External Prescription Policy

Blue Mountain Veterinary Care will provide written prescriptions for any medications or foods a client chooses to fill at an outside pharmacy. Hand-signed prescriptions can be picked up at the office OR an electronically-signed prescription can be emailed to the email address in the client record. It is the responsibility of the pet owner to know what type of prescription is needed for the pharmacy chosen. It is the responsibility of the pet owner to submit the prescription to the pharmacy. Blue Mountain Veterinary Care will prepare the prescription, as requested, by the end of the next business day. We provide this service free of charge to our clients for their convenience and their pet’s safety.

Blue Mountain Veterinary Care will NOT call prescriptions into an outside pharmacy.

Blue Mountain Veterinary Care does not have a fax machine and will not receive or approve fax requests from pharmacies.

Aside from FDA-approved veterinary compounding pharmacies, we do not have the ability to submit electronic prescriptions.

If the pharmacy you choose requires additional paperwork, phone verification or additional staff time, a $15 fee will be charged.

Late Arrival Policy

Our appointment schedule is always full. If a client arrives 10 minutes or more late for their appointment, they will be required to reschedule their appointment. If a client arrives late and we are able to see them, we may not be able to perform extra services i.e. nail trims and anal gland expression depending on time and staff availability. Please also see the Cancellation/No Show Policy.

Cancellation/No Show Policy

The schedule at Blue Mountain Veterinary Care is always full and we consistently have a list of clients who would like to be seen sooner than their scheduled appointment. When clients do not show up for an appointment, they are preventing other patients from being seen during that time frame. We understand that schedules can change. If you cannot make a scheduled appointment, we ask that you inform us as soon as possible so we can give another client the opportunity to take that appointment slot.

If a client does not show up for an appointment OR comes more than 10 minutes late to an appointment twice during a 12-month period, they will need to leave a deposit to schedule any future appointments. The deposit will be equal to the office visit fee and if they come to their scheduled appointment on time, this amount will be applied to the invoice that day. If they do not come to their scheduled appointment on time, this fee will be forfeited.

If an appointment is cancelled with less than 3 hours’ notice three times in a 12-month period, the client will need to leave a deposit to schedule any future appointments. The deposit will be equal to the office visit fee and if they come to their scheduled appointment on time, this amount will be applied to the invoice that day. If they do not come to their scheduled appointment on time, this fee will be forfeited.

Our surgery schedule is consistently booked out for several months and there is a long list of patients on the surgery cancellation list. For this reason, if a surgery is cancelled the same day of the procedure, we require a deposit for half of the surgical estimate to reschedule that surgery appointment.

Financial Policy

Blue Mountain Veterinary Care does not offer any financing. Payment is due at the time of service and/or the day products are received. There are no exceptions to this rule.

We encourage you to request an estimate whenever financial concerns exist. Our care team will work with you to create a plan that fits your budget whenever possible.

We currently accept cash, check, credit card and Care Credit as payment options.

Returned Checks

If a check is returned, the client is liable for the returned check fee. Checks will no longer be accepted from clients who have written a returned check. Another form of payment will be required.
